To cure children of cancer, all care and research in the Netherlands takes place in the Princess Máxima Center for pediatric oncology in Utrecht. On June 5, 2018, the new pediatric oncology center was opened by Queen Máxima herself.
The mission of the Princess Máxima Center is to cure every child who suffers from cancer and safeguard their quality of life. In the largest pediatric oncology center in Europe care and research are closely intertwined. Approximately 400 and more than 800 healthcare professionals working at the Princess Máxima Center work together intensively.
